CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Rain showers and thunderstorms are impacting your morning commute, making this a First Alert Weather Day.
The system is expected to linger through the morning into early afternoon, according to the FOX19 NOW Weather Team.
Earlier, heavy rain and thunderstorms between 2 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. left highways and main roads water-soaked. Crashes soon followed on southbound Interstate 75 near downtown Cincinnati.
One involved a passenger vehicle that wrecked just off the left, high-speed lane before Liberty Street.
Then a semi tractor-trailer jackknifed under the Ezzard Charles overpass, closing all lanes for more than an hour.
The downpours and strong wind gusts are the main concerns, says Meteorologist Catherine Bodak.
Winds could gust up to 40 mph.
