NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- New Haven city leaders are set to release new details on this year's New Haven Grand Prix on Thursday morning.

This year, organizers are looking beyond just a bicycle race and a pizza party. They’re looking to set a world record.

They are not looking to throw any pizza party; they want to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest pizza party ever.

It’s also the tenth year that downtown New Haven will be turned into a bicycle race course.

There will be eight races featuring everyone from local amateurs to top professional cyclists.

Some of these racers will get up to 40 miles an hour zipping around the edges of the New Haven Green.

Meanwhile, in the middle of the green will be the A-1 Toyota Apizza Feast, where $22 gets you two slices and a drink.
