Brett Beasley has been awarded a bittersweet honour, being named ‘Community Father of the Year’ for his ongoing efforts to take on knife crime. He and his wife Belinda have campaigned for tougher knife laws, after their son Jack was fatally stabbed on the Gold Coast in 2019. The couple also established the Jack Beasley Foundation to educate young people about the dangers of carrying knives.
