‘Eat, Pray, Love’ author Elizabeth Gilbert realized she was in love with best friend Rayya after her pal was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

The pair battled over substance abuse and following her partner’s death, Gilbert realized she was addicted to love.

She learned how to take care of herself and has established a sober dating plan.
