An Eastpointe city employee is alleging she was the target of discrimination and retaliation by interim city manager Elke Doom.

Human Resources Manager Vicky Brooks sent a six-page document on Aug. 27 to Mayor Michael Klinefelt, Mayor Pro Tem Cardi DeMonaco Jr., city attorney Richard Albright, and chairpersons of the ethics and civil service boards detailing her concerns.

She spoke during public comment at the Sept. 2 city council meeting and alleged a budget amendment that was on the agenda targeted her position. The e-packet for Tuesday’s meeting contains a list of budget amendments including a $30,663 decrease in personnel expenses for “staffing realignment.”

Brooks said her current salary was determined by a compensation study that was done by Rahmberg, Stover and Associates earlier
