WATERTOWN – The Water and Sewer Authority (WSA) approved new rates for water and sewer customers last Wednesday, following a Public Hearing on the proposed rates at the Watertown High School Auditorium.

The Authority approved one new quarterly water rate for the majority of WSA customers and another for residents in the Westgate area, which is served by the town using Watertown Fire District (WFD) water. The current water rate for WSA customers (per 1,000 gallons) is $3.28. It will increase 40% ($1.31) to a new rate of $4.59. The current water rate for Westgate customers is $3.28. It will increase 200% ($6.56) to a new total of $9.84.

Quarterly sewer rates are currently $4.06 per 1,000 gallons. This will increase by 50% ($2.03) to a new rate of $6.09.
