A Powerball ticket purchased in Detroit won $2 million in the Wednesday, Sept. 3 drawing, according to the game's website.
The ticket matched the five white balls drawn — 3, 16, 29, 61 and 69 — to win $1 million. The prize was doubled to $2 million thanks to the Power Play option.
The ticket was purchased at Sunkiss Market located at 13535 Puritan St. in Detroit.
Powerball prizes must be claimed within one year from the date of the drawing, according to the Michigan Lottery.
There was no jackpot winner in the Sept. 3 drawing, boosting the top prize to an estimated $1.7 billion ($770.3 million cash value), the third largest jackpot in the game's history.
The next Powerball drawing is Saturday, Sept. 6.
