PINEDALE -- The Rawlins Outlaws football team will have a real shot at success Friday night when they take on the Pinedale Wranglers for Week 1 of high school football.

The game will be in Pinedale on Sept. 5 with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m.

Both the Outlaws and the Wranglers are coming off years where they went 2-7 overall. One of Pinedale's two victories came at Rawlins by a score of 48-12. The teams have been evenly matched for the most part, though, going 3-3 against each other all-time since 2006.

Last year, the Wranglers were almost strictly a passing team. Their quarterback Ian Rigo is returning for his senior year. He lead the No. 10 passing team in Class 2A by averaging 60.9 yards per game with a 45.2% completion rate. He only threw four touchdowns, though, and gave up 11 inte
