NEWBURGH – The Newburgh Board of Education voted 5-4 to reinstate Jackielyn Manning Campbell as superintendent of the Newburgh Enlarged City School District at a special meeting Wednesday night.
Mid-Hudson News had reported Wednesday morning that the board was expected to vote to reinstate Campbell.
The board passed a resolution stating its intention to have Campbell return as superintendent “without delay.” Campbell will return to her position September 4. The resolution also states that the board rescinds all charges against Campbell. In the agreement Campbell releases the district and the board from claims and the board will pay Campbell’s legal fees of more than $10,000.
