Here’s a little idea for city council and the administration: Develop Blatchford and the Exhibition Lands (Expolands) to their full capacity for residential housing before allowing further infill destruction of neighbourhoods such as Crestwood, Glenora and Garneau.

Last week, council approved a master plan for the new fan park east of Rogers Place that included the demolition of the old Northlands Coliseum. The demolition opens the way for extensive residential construction. A total of 7,500 people are eventually expected to live there in row houses, condos and walk-ups while being served by two stops on the northeast Capital Line LRT.
