MIDDLETOWN – A masked gunman opened fire in a West Main Street, Middletown barber shop at around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, wounding an 18-year-old employee several times.

Barber Freddy Williams said there were five people in his shop at the time, two of them customers. He said the gunman approached one of his employees sitting in a chair against the front window waiting for a customer and fired, shooting the teen four or five times. He identified the victim as Nasir Andrades.

He was rushed to Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. His condition was not immediately known.

Williams believes the incident was a targeted shooting.
