A Lewiston man allegedly attacked a man and then bear-sprayed officers and a police dog in Oxford.

Matthew Martin, 45, has been charged with assault, assault on law enforcement, criminal trespass, refusing to submit to arrest, disorderly conduct, unlawful interference with a law enforcement dog and criminal use of disabling chemicals.

Martin allegedly assaulted a man on King Street on Wednesday morning while the victim was in his driveway getting ready to go to work. Martin then ran off, police said.

The victim didn’t know Martin, according to police.

Officers and a police dog named Koda found Martin a short time later, and he was visibly intoxicated, according to police.
