LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Las Vegas police are involved in a barricade situation in the central valley early Thursday morning.

Just after 11 p.m. Wednesday, detectives located a man wanted on felony charges in the area of Paradise and Flamingo Roads, a Metro lieutenant told FOX5. The apprehension turned into a standoff with police.

Around 5:45 a.m., Metro police said the suspect was found dead inside the vehicle he was barricaded in.

Paradise between Flamingo and Harmon will be closed to traffic while the investigation continues. The lieutenant said the area is shut down to vehicle and foot traffic.
