Surprise Mayor Kevin Sartor recognized local business networking group EPIC for the work it has been doing to bring businesses together in the city and West Valley.

Sartor gave the three organizers of EPIC a Community Champion Award at the Sept. 2 city council meeting. Organizers Ray Grim, an insurance agent; Greg Garcia, a real estate agent and ad salesman for Independent Newsmedia; and Cassandra Salamone accepted the honor.

“I just continue to learn what great people they are, about their business networking group, and all the support that they provide for local businesses, trying to just make it here in the city of Surprise,” Sartor said near the beginning of the regular council meeting.
