DENVER (KDVR) — The Powerball jackpot jumped to $1.7 billion on Wednesday after still no winner. However, some Coloradans already scored big after winning millions from Powerball tickets.

Since May 31, there have been 41 drawings without a jackpot win, raising the prize higher and higher after each drawing. The jackpot now sits at $1.7 billion after no jackpot win on Wednesday, but there are people nationwide — including in Colorado — still getting cash outs.

The goal of Powerball is to match the balls chosen in a drawing. Players choose five numbers from 69 numbers and one from 26 for the Powerball. Those who match the five white balls and the Powerball win the jackpot, but those who just match all five white balls still get a hefty prize.
