SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - One suspect was arrested and one remains missing after an armed carjacking in Springfield on Wednesday.

The Springfield Police Department states that on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m., officers were sent to the intersection of Bay Street and Cambridge Street for a report of a carjacking. Officers were informed that a victim had their car stolen at gunpoint by two suspects.

at 5:20 p.m., officers found the stolen vehicle on Tapley Street. When officers attempted a traffic stop near Edgewood Street, the driver, identified as 23-year-old Christian Soto Pi of Springfield, accelerated and refused to stop.

Officers saw the vehicle driving recklessly and found the stolen car later on Oakwood Terrace unoccupied. It was learned that the two suspects ran into the woods. Spring
