SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Minnesota State Auditor Julie Blaha announced Thursday that she will not be seeking reelection to her position.

Blaha, DFL, was elected to the Office of State Auditor (OSA) in 2018 and then reelected in 2022. The race in 2022 came very close, with Blaha winning 47.5% of the vote to Republican challenger Ryan Wilson's 47.1%.

She stated in a Facebook video Thursday that she will finish out her term before passing the baton in 2026.

"From the start, my plan was to serve a couple of terms, strengthen the OSA and leave it in a strong position for the next leader. Today I can confidently say we've done that," Blaha said. "The OSA right now is at a high level of effectiveness; it has a great team in place."
