CAPE MAY — Authorities are searching for a swimmer who went missing Thursday morning, the city said.

The swimmer went into the water near Beach and Madison avenues at 7:15 a.m., the city said in a Facebook post.

City police, fire and beach patrol along with State Police and the Coast Guard are on scene.

Double red flags are flying on city beaches due to high surf and dangerous rip currents, the city wrote in a separate post.
