LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Monterey Plainsmen will aim for their first win of the 2025 season tonight as the Abilene Wylie Bulldogs come to Lowrey Field- a part of KCBD’s Thursday Night Throwdown , the second of nine games broadcast this season. Game will be broadcast on KMYL.

While he previously served as Monterey’s offensive coordinator, first-year head coach Jason Sims knows the prestige behind the program.

“It’s a special group. The leadership, the ownership that they have, the drive they have, the love they have for football, the love they have for themselves,” he said.

The Plainsmen are coming off a 44-23 loss to Choctaw, the No. 1 team in Oklahoma. As for Wylie- last Friday, the Bulldogs blanked Brownwood 25-0.
