Months after The Marquis apartments in Downtown Easton completed construction, another residential building is being proposed next door.

Serfass Construction Co. is proposing a seven-story condominium development at 101 S. Third St. The process would involve demolishing the current building at the location, which houses a Fidelity Bank .

The Easton Planning Commission voted 4-2 Wednesday to recommend conditional approval to the Zoning Hearing Board. Commissioners Hubert Etchison and Kim Wagner voted against it.

The Historic District Commission must also hear the plans.

The 22,367-square-feet proposal calls for 73 condos, including 15 one-bedroom, 36 two-bedroom, and 22 three-bedroom units. The development will also contain 20,542 square feet of retail space.
