When Malin Åkerman first read the script for "The Hunting Wives," she wasn't instantly sold on playing the role of Margo Banks. Then her husband gave her some surprising input.

During a Sept. 3 appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," the actor recalled her initial reaction to the divisive character, who stirs up a whole lot of drama in the hit Netflix series .

"I had some reservations. I mean, I started reading it, and because of the content, you know. She’s amazing. This character is so incredible to get to play — all the nuances, the whole arc, everything," Åkerman said.

"You play it so well. It’s a lot of layers," Fallon replied.

Åkerman went on to describe how she needed a second opinion from her better half, Jack Donnelly, before committing to the role.
