Alberta RCMP say a 35-year-old woman is in custody after allegedly going to two stores in Stony Plain with a gun.

Around 11:04 a.m. on Sept. 3, Mounties from Parkland responded to a report that a woman had gone into two stores along 48 Street in Stony Plain.

The woman is believed to have gone into a bank with the gun, where she reportedly requested envelopes, before going to a nearby pharmacy, where she allegedly pointed the gun at several people before pulling the trigger. Police note it was later learned that the gun was not loaded.

Police attended the area and were able to quickly find the woman. Officers then asked the woman to stop and put down the gun, to which she initially complied; however, she then reportedly resisted arrest before being taken into custody.
