The Powerball jackpot continues to reach record heights after no big winner during Wednesday night’s drawing.

With no player matching all five numbers and the Powerball since May 31, the estimated jackpot has soared past an estimated $1.7 billion – the third-largest prize since the game’s beginning in 1992.

The only other jackpots larger were $1.765 billion in October 2023 and $2.04 billion in November 2022. Both were won by California players.

Any potential winner at this point would receive the chance to accept their prize in one lump sum or in 30 annual payments, which start small and increase each year by 5%. The estimated cash value currently stands at $777.3 million but will go up with every ticket purchased between now and Saturday night’s drawing.
