CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — With no jackpot winners resulting from Wednesday evening's drawing, the estimated prize for the Powerball has grown to $1.7 billion.
The next drawing for the prize, which has an estimated cash value of $770.3 million, is set to take place Saturday.
While there was no winner for the top prize, a ticket purchased through the West Virginia Lottery iPlay app was a $100,000 winner.
“This is such an exciting time in the lottery world,” said acting West Virginia Lottery Director David Bradley. “We had a $50,000 winner last weekend and have this $100,000 winner from last night. It is key to check your tickets and to get them purchased for Saturday. But as much as we enjoy these moments, we want to remind everyone how important it is to always play responsibly.”
