“From a long-term perspective, the overall cost of (having) wooden stairs is probably a lot higher,” Goose Lake/Freeman Coun. Peter Kuelken said during the meeting.

Jeff Zhang, county infrastructure services director, explained to council that wooden stair replacement was initially included in the 2023 budget at $70,000.
