A 14-year-old boy allegedly upset because he lost a fistfight was ordered to be detained in connection with the mass shooting that injured four teenagers in July on the city’s West Side.

The boy, who is not being named because he is a juvenile, faces four counts of aggravated battery with a firearm from the mass shooting on July 27, Chicago police said.

He was also charged with armed robbery stemming from a July 14 robbery of a 16-year-old boy in the 3000 block of West Jackson Boulevard, police said.

The fight happened between the 14-year-old and someone he knew in the 700 block of South Springfield Avenue around 11:25 p.m. July 27, and the suspect was maced after the fight, according to police reports obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times.
