Kirkland Lake to host 2025 northeastern Ontario mines and minerals symposium at the Kirkland Lake campus of Northern College from Oct. 5 to Oct. 8.

In an interview with the Northern News NPA president Gino Chitaroni stated the focus of this year’s event is gold.

“The theme is more gold oriented than anything else. It has to do with the (gold) industry is coming back again, its shining. The focal point is gold this year.”

Chitaroni did point out while gold is what they will be focusing on, there will be presenters speaking about other minerals such critical minerals, base metals, possibly silver and cobalt. “We are hoping to get (a presentation on) hydrogen too if we can get it, because that is kind of active in the Timiskaming area right now, said Chitaroni”
