For several minutes, John Derwin Bradley spoke softly and contritely about the murders of his ex-girlfriend and her mother .
He pleaded guilty in April to killing 16-year-old Rianna Glass and her mother. He called Rianna Glass his happiness and his hope .

Judge John Morganelli acknowledged Bradley’s remorse, his troubled upbringing and his youth. But they don’t outweigh his actions, the judge said.
He sentenced Bradley to 73 years to life – at least 36 and a half years in prison for each of the victims.
