The 2025 NFL season kicks off this week, and the University of Michigan is well represented across the league.

Forty-eight former Wolverines are opening the year on 53-man active rosters, which doesn’t include players on injured reserve such as Junior Colson. Of the 48, seven are rookies. That doesn’t include quarterback J.J. McCarthy, who missed his entire first season because of injury but is ineligible to win rookie of the year.

TE AJ Barner, Seattle Seahawks
