MONROE COUNTY, MI -- U.S. Marshals arrested a Michigan man Wednesday following a Florida police investigation. Dr. William J. Murdoch is accused of soliciting a parent to consent to the participation of sexual conduct involving a child, according to Port St. Lucie police .

Police allege that in June 2025, Murdoch began chatting with a “mom” who was actually an undercover police officer. Throughout the course of the conversations, Murdoch allegedly indicated he wanted to build a platonic relationship with the mother in hopes of beginning a sexual relationship with the woman’s 5-year-old daughter.

Police allege that Murdoch’s messages included descriptions on how he would groom the child for the relationship.
