LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The U.S. Department of Justice on Thursday sued Southern California Edison over the deadly Eaton and Fairview fires, seeking tens of millions of dollars in damages.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California announced the two lawsuits in a news release and at a press conference, accusing the utility of negligence in causing the destructive blazes.
