A new report estimates that changing federal policies could cause up to 203,000 Massachusetts residents to lose Medicaid coverage.
The report from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation and the Urban Institute analyzed federal law H.R. 1, known as President Donald Trump's “Big Beautiful Bill.” The report found that two provisions due to go into effect at the end of 2026 could mean between 141,000 and 203,000 MassHealth-covered residents could lose health insurance coverage.
