NEWINGTON, Conn. (WFSB) - A 22-year-old man has been arrested after hitting a police officer with his car.

On March 19, 2025, at around 9:30 p.m., Newington police officers recognized a car that has failed to pull over for traffic stops in the past.

The car was seen entering the Chick-fil-A drive-through on the Berlin Turnpike.

The officers attempted to stop the car in the drive-through, but the driver intentionally drove towards one officer, striking him with the car before fleeing the scene.

The officer sustained minor injuries, according to police.

After an extensive investigation, police arrested 22-year-old Luis Antonio Lopez of Wethersfield.

Lopez turned himself in to police today.
