HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - A Hartford City Councilor is stepping down as minority leader of the City’s Council but will remain a city leader.
The resignation comes after a city report found Councilman Alex Thomas inappropriately used city money, charging hundreds of dollars more than he was allowed to, to a city-issued purchase card.
Thomas denied the allegations but did ask to step down as Minority Leader. He will remain on City Council, as a Councilor.
In his resignation letter, Thomas wrote, “It has been an honor to serve in this role as the youngest Minority Leader in Council history, and I am grateful for the confidence placed in me during my tenure.
