The suspect involved in a police shooting with a Fremont County sheriff's deputy in late August has been arrested and identified after being released from the hospital.

Ethan Pollington, 27, was hospitalized on Aug. 29 after a deputy went to a Cañon City home for a welfare check around 6 p.m. following a series of "repeated 911 hang-up calls" made by a relative inside the home, according to a Thursday news release by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. The relative informed the deputy that Pollington was drunk and had a gun.

While speaking to the relative, Pollington purportedly opened the door and pointed a .22-caliber gun at the deputy then walked outside. The deputy fired his weapon, striking Pollington in the arm and leg. The suspect's handgun was later found to be unloaded.
