Alberta Premier Danielle Smith speaks in Edmonton in 2024. The provincial government's Fairness and Safety in Sport Act bans trans children 12 and older from participating in female-only sports in schools or private leagues.
Starting this school year in Alberta , anyone who suspects that a child playing sports in any female-only league is not actually a female can file a formal challenge with the relevant board.
