Ethan Pritchard, a freshman linebacker for the Florida State Seminoles, is in critical but stable condition at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Florida after he was shot in the back of the head on Sunday night, according to reports.

The incident occurred in Havana, Florida, while Pritchard, 18, was driving his aunt home from a family gathering.

“Ethan attended a family gathering with his closest family members on Sunday afternoon to celebrate the holiday weekend and Saturday’s victory,” a family member of Pritchard’s told the Orlando Sentinel . “Before driving back to campus, Ethan offered to drive his aunt and her 2-year-old child home after the family gathering ended.
