AKRON, Ohio – Whether you have played pickleball a few times or you are a regular on the court, Akron has a way to put your skills to the test: the Akron Bicentennial Pickleball Round Robin Tournament.

The tournament is one of more than a dozen events the city has planned to celebrate its 200th anniversary.

The tournament includes a recreational division on Sept. 7 for beginning levels and players rated under a 3.0 Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating, and an intermediate division on Sept. 14 for players with suggested DUPR ratings of 3.0-4.0. Both tournaments will be held at the Shaw JCC, located at 750 White Pond Dr.

The tournament is open to players ages 18 and older. Tournament times each day are from 2-7 p.m., with teams in group 1 playing from 2-4 p.m. and teams in group 2 playin
