Every Saturday through Wednesday, I spend my days working on the copy desk of The Blade, Toledo’s newspaper.

I usually proofread stories, but sometimes I pull and edit stories from our wire services while paginators design the pages.

Similarly, Mare Pritti spends her workdays at the Toledo Truth Teller — the fictional Toledo newspaper depicted in The Paper, a spinoff of hit sitcom The Office — doing all of the above.

The differences, however, could not be more stark.
