STAFFORD, Texas (KIAH) -- Two men were shot and killed, while a Stafford police officer was shot and injured in a SWAT standoff on Wednesday night.

Stafford police said that just before 10 p.m. Thursday, a man came to the police department saying that his son had just killed someone at his home, located at the 13000 block of Lawrence Lane. He also said that the suspect, who he identified as 35-year-old Adrian Mercado, was armed and dangerous.

Police arrived at the scene and found the body of a man in the backyard of the home. The man was later identified as Thomas Goodson, 32. Mercado was discovered to have left the scene.
