BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Former Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper announced his retirement from the NFL after 10 seasons, according to Ian Rapoport.
Cooper reportedly informed the Las Vegas Raiders of his decision to step away from the game Thursday after signing with the team a little over a week ago. He began his career with the Raiders in 2015 when the team was still located in Oakland. In his first four years with Oakland, he tallied 225 catches for 3,183 yards and 19 touchdowns.
He was traded to Dallas in 2018 and tallied 292 catches for 3,893 yards and 27 touchdowns in 56 games with the Cowboys. The Cowboys later traded Cooper to the Cleveland Browns where he spent three seasons, going for over 1,000 yards in two of the three seasons.
