SAGINAW, MI — A Saginaw man has received a probationary sentence after being convicted alongside a now-former city councilwoman of election fraud.

His sentencing judge encouraged him, though, to not let his three recent convictions deter him from pursuing a career as a public servant.

“Do it with integrity and honor,” Saginaw County Circuit Judge Andre R. Borrello told 53-year-old Eric A. Eggleston after imposing his sentence.

Borrello sentenced Eggleston to 18 months’ probation, during which he is to perform 140 hours of community service, divided equally among eight local organizations. The judge further ordered Eggleston to pay $316 in fines and costs within 90 days and a $30 monthly supervision fee.

Eggleston’s advisory sentencing guidelines were calculated at zero to nine months.
