National Voter Registration Day is Sept. 16, and the League of Women Voters of North Santa Barbara County is joining a nationwide effort to get every eligible American registered to vote.

"Every eligible citizen should have the option to exercise their right to be heard at the ballot box, and National Voter Registration Day is the perfect day to start getting Americans ready to vote,’ said Tracy Beard, chair, Voter Service Committee of the League of Women Voters of North Santa Barbara County.

"National Voter Registration Day is a civic rallying point that helps to raise awareness of the need to ensure every American is ready to vote to take part in these often forgotten off-year elections that shape the future of our communities."
