DICKINSON — Dr. Dennis Godby started his Tuesday morning in Richardton and ended it in Dickinson, celebrating with a stop at Phat Fish Brewery.
Along Old Highway 10, the route Godby took is about 24 miles and a 30-minute drive. But instead of driving or biking, he walked the entire way — a trek that took him all day.
The walk is part of Godby’s mission to travel from South Carolina to Washington on foot to raise awareness of health equity issues nationwide.
Godby, a naturopathic doctor based in Sacramento, California, first gained attention in 1978 while a student at Oregon State University when he ran 1,420 miles in 37 days from Corvallis, Oregon, to Calgary, Canada, to promote exercise and nutrition.
Through his current effort, Godby hopes to highlight issues such as access to mental
