The No. 16 Powerball hasn’t been drawn since before Thanksgiving last year – but it’s not the only elusive number.
As the Saturday, Sept. 6, Powerball jackpot climbs past $1.7 billion, many players may be eyeing No. 16 as their red Powerball pick. About two dozen states now allow players to buy Powerball tickets online, so you don't need to stand in line waiting for a set of random numbers.
Others might take a chance on red No. 26, which hasn’t appeared in 247 days, or No. 7, which hasn't been lucky for 233 days. Even No. 10 hasn’t made an appearance since April.
Of course, random drawings are just that. Those numbers haven’t rolled out because others have. Consider No. 22. It won Sept. 3 – just four games after it won Aug. 25. The Sept. 1 winner (No. 5) also won in August.
That said, if you’re looking to rule out, or rule in, some Powerball numbers these are likely your best bets. And maybe your 1 in 292.2 million odds of winning the jackpot will fall ever so slightly?
