Parkland County RCMP responded to a firearm complaint on September 3 shortly after 11 a.m..
The complaint involved a female who attended two businesses while holding a firearm along 48 Street.
The female was believed to be under the influence and entered a bank with the firearm, requesting envelopes. Shortly afterwards, she entered a nearby pharmacy and started pointing the firearm in various directions, including at an employee while pulling the trigger of the weapon. It was later learned that the gun was not loaded at the time.
Police were in the area and located the female. Officers approached the woman, and she complied with orders to put down the weapon. While she initially complied, she resisted arrest before being taken into custody without further incident.
