FLETCHER - In a back warehouse of the Fletcher Business Park, a set of walls and windows are stacked onto one another, lying flat like a birthday card. Quickly, Compact Cottages' employees push up two walls, each on opposite ends, and then pull up two longer walls with a winch system to unfold the frame of the company's "Origami Home." Some say the design could be a solution to Western North Carolina's, and the country's, housing woes.
