ST. LOUIS — Mayor Cara Spencer on Thursday announced plans to spend $12 million in interest from the Rams relocation settlement to clear tornado debris and free up housing for displaced residents — and said more money is coming.
She said the $12 million will add to $18 million in Rams interest already earmarked for other tornado relief, including help paying rent, mental health services and legal support.
In a news release, Spencer called the money a “starting point to a larger tranche of funding to ensure we remove all debris from our communities and ensure our impacted residents have access to safe housing by winter.”
