CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A senior pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Charlotte has been ousted after an investigation into his alleged misconduct, according to officials with the Presbytery of Charlotte.

Church officials announced on Wednesday, Sept. 3, that the Presbytery of Charlotte has launched an investigation into allegations of offensive behavior by Senior Pastor Pendleton B. Peery, which allegedly violated the trust and responsibilities of ordained ministry.

Officials said that their investigation resulted in two charges of adultery and two charges of wrongful concealment of inappropriate conduct that undermines the peace, purity, and righteousness of the church.
