An Alberta woman is facing several charges after Border Services seized a variety of drugs from some luggage at Calgary International Airport.
Mounties say the drugs were found on Aug. 7 when Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers were checking outbound baggage.
The luggage in question was “flagged for abnormalities,” and upon searching it, officers found 4.5 kilograms of cannabis inside, police say.
The traveller was taken into custody, and CBSA searched her carry-on luggage, where they allegedly found 5.2 grams of fentanyl, 2.1 grams of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.
Stavely resident Amy Diane Haydu, 46, is facing charges for drug possession and trafficking.
She will appear in a Calgary courtroom in September.
